In this article, we're going to discuss some recommended steps to take before starting a new school year on the Zenva Schools platform. Each step here is entirely optional, but is designed to help you make the most of the platform and have an ideal transition from one school year to the next.
1. Explore the Latest Courses and Resources
We strive to keep up with both evolving industry standards and school curriculum changes. As such, we're constantly altering our available courses to suit teachers' needs - whether that's adding new courses or updating current courses with new resources (such as curriculum mapping).
2. Delete Old Teacher Accounts
New school years often mean changes in staffing. As such, School Admins will want to review the Teachers part of their school and remove any colleagues who will no longer be working with the Zenva Schools platform.
3. Remove Old Student Accounts
As we charge by the seat, you'll most likely want to free up seats for incoming students. So, now would be a good time to
remove any students that will not be using the platform for this coming school year. Please note, though, that any
reporting data you want to keep must be saved locally before removing the student. Deletion is a permanent process that will erase all student data.
4. Review Your Classrooms
Along with updating your user lists, you may wish to review your classrooms. Some changes you might want to make could include:
- Renaming or updating classroom details
- Creating new classrooms
- Adding new courses to classrooms
- Archiving old classrooms
- Deleting old classrooms
5. Review Login Mode
At the start of the school year is the best time to review how your students are logging in to the Zenva Schools platform. We offer both
username and email login. The
Single Sign-On (SSO) feature, though, only works with email login.
6. Add New Teachers
Similarly to one of the steps above, you'll want to make sure to
add any new teachers at your school who will be using the Zenva Schools platform this new school year.
7. Import New Students
Once your classrooms are ready, you'll obviously want to add new students to the platform. You can add students
one at a time or
in bulk.
