How to Add Students to a Classroom

Classrooms function just like real-life classrooms - they allow Teachers and School Admins to organize students and assign them courses as a group. Before a classroom can function, though, students in the school need to be added to the classroom.

This article will cover both how to add existing students to a classroom. Before beginning, we recommend familiarizing yourself with the process of adding students to your school, as this is a necessary step to be able to put students in a classroom. Note as well that you can add students to your school and classroom at the same time:

Option 1: School Students Page - Bulk

You can add existing students to a classroom directly from the School Students page by using the checkboxes to select the students that you wish you add to a classroom, then clicking on the "Add to Classroom" button:






Option 2: School Students Page - Individual

From the same School Students page, you can also edit an individual into the classroom by performing the below.
  1. Locate the student you wish to edit and click Edit.



  2. Find the Classrooms field and click on it. Then, select any classrooms you want to add the student to.



  3. Hit Save to save the student information.
Note: If the student was in any archived classrooms, editing with this method will automatically remove students from those classrooms.

Option 3: Classroom Students Page

You can also add students while viewing the classroom itself.

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Click the Classrooms menu link.
  3. On the Classrooms page, locate the classroom you want to add students to.
  4. Click Students from the Actions column for that classroom.


  1. On the Classroom Students page, click the Add Student button.


  1. Click the blank field. A list displays the names of students with school accounts.
  2. Click a name to add a student to the classroom. Click additional names as required.
  3. Click the Add button after you finish adding names.
The student names appear in the classroom list for your review.
